Section Engineer – Third Rail

Experience: Total 10 years of experience and at least 4 years in Third Rail system of Metro Rail Industry Experience.

Job Description:

AECOM is providing general engineering consultancy services for Phase-I of Ahmedabad Metro Rail project. With this win, AECOM becomes the only consultant to be associated with all the metro projects in the six Indian cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

As the general engineering consultant, AECOM will be working on design review, technical specifications, system integration, procurement, construction supervision, project management, tender and award of contracts, contract administration, station and depot architecture, civil and interface management and testing and commissioning of Phase.

AECOM India is seeking an experienced and proven professional for Section Engineer – Third Rail for Ahmedabad Metro Project to provide support to with experience in preparing designs associated with rail traction and electrical systems. You will have a real passion for technical excellence and enjoy the challenge of delivering multi-discipline projects.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake Third Rail Traction and Electrical System design and detailed drawings. The role is a multi-faceted role assisting in multiple projects, whilst having direct client interaction

The responsibilities of Section Engineer – Third Rail are as below:

Job Duties :

• Testing & commissioning of Power supply installations and Traction sub-stations (ASS/TSS),consisting of switchgear panels feeding auxiliary and Traction transformers

• Installation and Testing and commissioning of 750V DC third rail Traction system, DC rectifiers, Traction Transformers and stringer system.

• To lead internal support staffs and external resources to monitor the system design for incoming power supply, high voltage A.C. power supply system, D.C. traction power supply system, and third rail system, earthing system and stray current corrosion control and protection for new railway projects.

• To monitor and assist the establishment of the project requirements document including the functional requirement manual and design standard manual for the third rail power supply system.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

• Electrical design skills in any of the following – Third Rail traction power, secondary systems

• Knowledge of AC and DC traction power systems

• Demonstrated ability to present and explain various design options and outcomes to clients

• Demonstrated experience in preparing client reports

• Industrial and utility experience would be advantageous
