Note: This position would be a consultant position before we really start the project, he will be here when we start the project once we start constructing our bunkers and will be full time once the project is about to be commissioned.
Duties and Responsibilities
“Radiation physicists are responsible for the safe and effective use of radioactive equipment at hospitals and research laboratories. They oversee the use of X-ray machines and radiation treatments in the radiology and oncology departments of hospitals.
Radiology
Radiation physicists who work in a hospital’s radiology department are in charge of the use of diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines. Because these devices produce radiation they can potentially be dangerous to health. The radiation physicist is responsible for ensuring the device is correctly calibrated to give a safe and effective dose. The radiation physicist is also in charge of measuring how much radiation the devices in the radiology department expend, and for ensuring that staff and visitors are protected from any unnecessary or excessive exposure.
Oncology
Radiation physicists in the hospital’s oncology department are responsible for the safety and correct use of radiation treatments for cancer patients. The radiation physicist helps the other members of the oncology staff to design treatment plans that will avoid exposing patients to excessively high or frequent doses of radiation. The radiation physicist is also responsible for maintaining radiation safety standards to protect the people who work in the oncology department, and for checking the equipment continuously to make sure the correct dose of radiation is being used.”
