Contract Engineer

Job location: Karwar, Bangalore, Delhi, Kochi, Himachal, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune

Job Description:

Job Duties:

• Understanding of FIDIC conditions of Contract

• Study of Contract document & highlight all the important clauses.

• Interpretation of Contractual conditions in response to the contractor claims.

• Drafting of contractual letters for day to day issues in consultation with site engineers.

• Timely reply to contractor’s letters and client requirements.

• Keeping track of all variations and follow up with client

• Assist in payment certificate, in final payment certificate, Contract changes and claims management.

• Monitoring contractor’s payment process.

• Preparing Counter claims and documentation for the DAB, Arbitration etc.

• Strictly adhering to the time limit of Clauses leading to Variations, Arbitration & other obligations.

• Reviewing and managing claims relating to Variations, subsequent legislation, delay in payments etc., Preparation of Extension of Time, Delay analysis and Compensation for delays.

• Regular meetings / negotiations with Clients/Contractor / Engineer for claims, variations and other contractual issues.

• Drafting of Notice of dispute, Statement of Claim, Written submissions and other submissions required during the proceedings of Arbitration, Conciliation, Committee, etc.

Minimum Qualification

• BE/B. Tech-Civil

Specific Skills Required (Hiring manager completion required, mandatory)

Good working experience in MS office.

Person Specification (Behavioral Attributes) 

Should be a team player, proactive, adaptable.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Contract administration in major residential projects and infrastructure works.

• Extensive proven experience in the ability to assess Contract compliance.

• Working knowledge of Contract letter writing.

• Extensive knowledge of Contractor compliance issues.

• Good written and oral communication skills, including facilitation, presentation skills, and proven ability to deal tactfully and effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders.

• Candidates with experience in FIDIC form of contracts would have an advantage
