The Market Risk Engine comprises of VAR calculations, Trade valuation engine and the market data engine. The development team provides all the functionality in C++ to support the market risk.
As a Technical Business Analyst you will work with developers in India and Sydney to meet the scrums deliverables.
Responsibilities The Principal Technical Business Analyst is responsible for leading and influencing requirements gathering and analysing business requirements, providing leadership and innovative solutions for IT systems.
Core responsibilities:
Lead and be accountable for the scope and requirements definition of large programs of work, large projects or significant change activities, and provide inputs into the estimation process
Strong stakeholder management and ability to engage technical and non- technical audiences and multiple levels of seniority
Demonstrable ability to describe and justify the merits of different functional and business solutions
Sound functional knowledge foundation built on extensive project delivery experience
Ability to lead Requirements development processes, including stakeholder management, stakeholder workshop, requirements decomposition, story mapping, scope management
Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams
Ability to influence the broader delivery team including other service providers and bank support teams;
Proven ability to introduce new processes or practices to increase the productivity of the platform;
Ensure technology solutions are aligned with the Bank Group’s enterprise architecture, policies and procedures;
Complete and oversee program or project deliverables including quality control and sign off for area of accountability;
Provide ongoing assistance to support teams for functionality released into production;
Provide support to testing activities including unit testing, BA testing and system testing ensuring adequate project coverage;
Work closely with stakeholders and change management to identify impacts to business processes as a result of system or application changes;
Support the Architect and PM in identifying project delivery issues and risks, assist with mitigation strategies, and escalate where necessary;
Evaluate effectiveness of SDLC processes and methodologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement;
Analyse and document business/ functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools;
Using knowledge of system capabilities, rules, and architecture, convert business needs into functional designs;
Skills Must Essential:
Prior experience working with relevant banking systems e.g. vendor FX system implementation (front- 2- back including finance and risk)
8+ years of industry experience, in either a relevant Consultancy role or with Tier 1/ 2 investment bank (on- shore or offshore)
Experience of data analysis and mapping should be shown
Past experience of eliciting user requirements, creating user epics/ documenting user stories in an Agile fashion using JIRA will need to be demonstrated
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills must be demonstrated
Good relevant product knowledge is required e.g. FX product knowledge is required – forwards, swaps, money markets
Good understanding of business processes in the specific sub- domain e.g. back office FX confirmation and settlement process
Maintains a sense of urgency and has the ability to prioritise / multi- task to deliver business value and meet project objectives
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Strong problem- solving skills and attention to detail
Willing to propose and implement new ideas
Ability to translate business requirements into technical components and actions
Good understanding of market and credit risk, pricing models, VaR, etc
Good technical experience
Worked previously in a market risk technical delivery tea
Nice to have Past experience of eliciting user requirements, creating user epics/ documenting user stories in an Agile fashion using JIRA will need to be demonstrated
